Anti-illegal immigration protesters in California have now extended their campaigns in the state's busy highways. Last Wednesday, the first of numerous billboards paid for by Grassfire.org were placed up on the Foothill 210 freeway in Durante. According to campaign organizers, about 15 additional billboards with an image of the US-Mexico with the message: "Stop the Invasion: Secure Our Border" would be placed in other locations across California.
The billboards also bear the number of Senator Barbara Boxer's office in Los Angeles and thus encourage all viewers to call her office in order to persuade the senator to vote in favor of a bill aimed at controlling and reducing the number of illegal immigrants. Aside from the state of California, the organization has already posted billboards in other places such as: West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona. Last June 9th, the Grassfire.org unveiled another billboard in San Diego, but this time bearing the number of Senator Dianne Feinstein. With the series of anti-illegal immigration billboards, the president of the organization hopes that their campaign would be a big help in pushing the Congress tackle the issue of illegal immigration and move for reforms in order to address the problem.
